TCPA

What is the TCPA?

TCPA is the acronym for the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, a piece of legislation passed by Congress in 1991 that regulates phone, SMS, fax, and other solicitations to protect consumers and businesses from unwanted sales messages.

Telephone Consumer Protection Act regulations cover acceptable and restricted use of autodialers, multi-line dialers, and other telemarketing equipment, the content of solicitations (ie. inclusion of the name of the person or entity, as well as an address or telephone number), compliance with the National Do-Not-Call Registry, and more. The TCPA also prohibits the calling of residential numbers before 8am and after 9pm.
